Floorspace is the exclusive NZ distributor of Tandus Flooring. Tandus has been forging a groundbreaking path to sustainability. We are proud of the many significant, real accomplishments, and know that we have made a positive and lasting difference in the world:

2007   High recycled content, solution–dyed nylon, extruded by Tandus, is introduced. Retrieve program reclaims product folders and carpet samples for reuse and recycling. Introduction of Conserv™ modular backing, a product that uses fewer resources.

2006   All commercial boilers are switched over to 100% biodiesel fuel. Blink, a paper-based product sampling system that saves raw material, is introduced. Only carpet company to have 100% of its standard recycled content products certified Platinum EPP and California Gold.

2004   Introduction of Ethos, created from plastic film recovered from old windshields, which provides a backing material made with 76% post–consumer content. Ethos named a Top 10 Green product by Environmental Building News. Suzanne Tick and Terry Mowers join the Tandus design team to develop overall product strategy and designs.

2003    C & A is the first carpet manufacturer to earn EPP certification for entire product line.

2000   C & A brings third–party certification of environmental marketing claims to the carpet industry. First carpet company to promote the use of the Federal Trade Commission's "Guides for the Use of Environmental Marketing Claims."

1999   Awarded the NRC Outstanding Corporate Buy Recycled Business Program Award. Awarded the U.S. General Services Administration Evergreen Award. Recognized by the U.S. EPA as a Private Sector Pioneer.

1998    Awarded the National Recycling Coalition (NRC) Innovative New Product of the Year for ER3.

1994    The Infinity Initiative is introduced, the first full–scale commercial program to reclaim and then 100% recycle vinyl–backed carpet.

1988    RS peel–and–stick dry adhesive system is introduced, virtually eliminating VOCs and improving air quality.

1979   Powerbond is installed at the Fairbanks International Airport, where almost 30 years later, it is still performing beautifully in spite of the harsh climate and more than 18 million travellers passing through.

1969   First in North America to offer modular carpet tile.

1967   C & A, one of three Tandus brands, launches Powerbond, a revolutionary flooring that combines the durability of resilient flooring with the aesthetics and comfort of carpet.
